Busy Thursday night for the crew of CO 67
Thu. Aug 13th 2009

Thursday night started out with a ems call in Sterling, then while 67-2 was out on that 67-3 was dispatched to assist CO 1 on a propane leak in the Hideout.

Then CO 36 & 67 were dispatched for a structure fire on St. Mary's Road in Salem twp.  Upon the arrival of 36 Chief he advised the fire was out but we had 1 burn patient  67 Engine 5 responded into the scene with a crew of 6, Chief Marconi, Asst. Chief Mehne, Firefighters Jim Gisinger, Jean Gisinger, Jason Delorenzo, & Brian Alt.  Our crew assisted with the treatment of the patient and setting up to get the smoke out of the house.  A medical helicopter Medivac was requested into the scene to transport the patient to the burn unit.  36 Chief assigned 67 Chief to the landing zone to get it set up and take command of it.  Once we were released and put back into service by 36 Chief we went back to our station.

Once we were back at our station within a half an hour we were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash with entrapment on Route 191 in Lake Ariel .  The 67 Rescue, squad and EMS responded right after dispatch.  Upon arrival crews found 1 male patient trapped in the drivers seat.  67 Rescues along with the crew from 1 Engine 1 cribbed the vehicle and the 67 Rescue crew did the extrication of the patient.  1 Engine 1 also had a charged hose line on standby as well.  Rescue Captain 1 Chris Diperro had the command on the scene.  Command sent 67 rescue to set up a landing zone at the Lake Ariel Beach and asked 67 Chief to take the LZ command.
